Who Are We?

Emergent Women Unified is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to driving positive change in the areas of good governance, poverty alleviation, and reproductive and mental health for vulnerable populations. We believe that every individual deserves access to basic rights and opportunities to lead a fulfilling life.

What We Do

The organization's approach is collaborative and community-based, working with governments, civil society organizations, and individuals to create lasting solutions that benefits everyone, through research, capacity building and partnerships. Emergent Women Unified has a vision of empowering women, we believe that women have the power to bring positive change in their communities. By advocating for women's rights, empowering communities, and fostering equitable systems, we aim to create a world where women can thrive, poverty is alleviated, and individuals have access to comprehensive healthcare and well-being support.

Good Governance

We are deeply committed to promoting and advancing good governance practices, including recognizing the pivotal role that governance plays in fostering social justice, equality, and sustainable development. Emergent Women Unified works tirelessly to empower women and enhance their participation in leadership and decision-making processes at all levels. The organization firmly believes that good governance is the cornerstone of a just and inclusive society and is essential for the sustainable development of communities and nations. To promote good governance, we work with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and grassroots groups. The organization provides technical assistance, capacity building, and advocacy support to ensure that women's voices are heard in decision-making processes and that their rights are protected.

Poverty Alleviation

EWU advocates for equal rights to economic resources amongst men and women and works with underserved communities, to improve their income and sources of livelihood. Recognizing the devastating impacts of poverty on individuals, families, and communities, the organization works tirelessly by promoting self-resilience amongst women, men and youths in poor communities and implement strategies that foster economic stability and social development. With an aim to achieve a vision of a world free poverty, fear and oppression. The organization puts women and girls in the center because it believes that world cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal opportunities and rights.

Reproductive Health

We are committed to promoting reproductive health rights and ensuring that women have access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare. The organization advocates for policies and programs that prioritize reproductive rights, including access to contraception, safe and legal abortion services, and maternal healthcare. It works towards eliminating barriers to reproductive healthcare, such as social stigma, discrimination, and lack of information. Emergent Women Unified also focuses on promoting sexual and reproductive health education, enabling women to make informed choices about their bodies, relationships, and family planning.

Women's Economic Empowerment

One of the core focuses of Emergent Women Unified is women's economic empowerment. The organization believes that empowering women economically is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Mental Health

Recognizing the often-neglected aspect of mental health, Emergent Women Unified is dedicated to addressing mental health issues. The organization works to raise awareness about mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, and trauma. It strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and advocates for the integration of mental health services into primary healthcare systems. We support initiatives that provide counseling, therapy, and psychosocial support to people in need, emphasizing the importance of holistic well-being.
